BARGO ("we", "our", "us") operates the website at nextgenbargo.com. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our NextGen bar exam preparation platform. BARGO also publishes a separate iOS app, which is an independent product with its own billing; the additional third-party services the app relies on are listed in section 5.

By creating an account or using our services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

We collect the following categories of information:

Account Information

• Email address (required for account creation)
• Display name (optional, set in your profile)
• Authentication data via Google OAuth or email/password

Study Progress Data

• Quiz and mock exam scores, answers, and completion times
• Topics viewed and study notes accessed
• Flashcard sessions and bookmarked questions
• Study streaks and daily activity
• Weak area identification and performance analytics

Payment Information

• Payments are processed by Dodo Payments. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details on our servers.
• We receive confirmation of payment status, transaction ID, and purchase type (1-month or lifetime plan).

Usage Data

• Pages visited, features used, and time spent on the platform
• Device type, browser, operating system, and screen resolution
• IP address (anonymized in analytics)

• Provide and maintain our NextGen bar exam preparation service
• Track your study progress, streaks, and performance analytics
• Identify weak areas and personalize your study experience
• Process payments and manage your premium access for the duration of the plan you purchased
• Send essential service communications (e.g., password resets, payment confirmations)
• Analyze usage patterns to improve our content and features
• Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not send promotional marketing emails unless you explicitly opt in. As an existing customer you may occasionally receive a service-related message about your account or your experience with us (for example, a request to leave a review) — you can opt out of these in one click at any time.

• Your data is stored securely using Supabase, with databases hosted in the United States (AWS us-east-1, N. Virginia).
• All data is encrypted in transit (TLS/HTTPS) and at rest.
• Access to production databases is restricted to authorized personnel only.
• Authentication tokens are stored securely using HTTP-only cookies.
• We use Row Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure users can only access their own data.

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

We use the following third-party services to operate our platform:

• Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage
• Dodo Payments — payment processing
• Google Analytics — anonymous usage analytics
• Google OAuth — optional sign-in method
• Vercel — website hosting and content delivery

Our separate iOS app is an independent product and additionally uses:

• Apple App Store — in-app purchases and subscription billing
• RevenueCat — subscription and entitlement management
• Firebase (Google) — app usage analytics

Each of these services has their own privacy policy governing how they handle your data.

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
• Rectify — update or correct inaccurate personal data
• Delete — permanently delete your account and all associated data from your profile settings
• Export — request an export of your study progress data
• Withdraw consent — opt out of non-essential data collection at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at team@nextgenbargo.com or use the account management features in your profile. We extend these rights to all users regardless of where you live. For visitors in the EEA or UK, they reflect your rights under the GDPR.

If you are a resident of California or another US state with a consumer privacy law (such as the CCPA/CPRA), you have the rights described in section 6 — to know, access, correct, delete, and export your personal information — and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising them.

• We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
• We honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) browser signal as a valid opt-out of non-essential cookies — see our cookie policy.
• We respond to verified requests within the time required by applicable law (45 days under the CCPA, extendable once where permitted).

To make a request, email team@nextgenbargo.com from the address on your account, or use the export and delete tools in your profile settings.

• Your data is retained for as long as your account is active.
• When you delete your account, all personal data and study progress is permanently removed from our systems.
• Anonymized, aggregated analytics data (which cannot identify you) may be retained for service improvement purposes.
• Payment records may be retained as required by applicable tax and financial regulations.

We use a limited number of cookies:

• Essential cookies — required for authentication and session management. These cannot be disabled.
• Analytics cookies — used by Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site. These are anonymized.

We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels.

BARGO is designed for law students and legal professionals preparing for the bar exam. Our service is not directed at individuals under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. For material changes, we will notify registered users by email. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of BARGO after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
